If one of our programs includes a mix of adult and youth athletes, we require our adult athletes (aged 18 or older) to complete a background check with us. The background check is free, submitted through a secure platform, and none if your personal information is stored in our system. We are only reviewing for violent offenses.
These background checks expire every two years. You will be asked to complete another one when your background check expires and you register, as an adult athlete, in a program that has youth athletes registered.
This policy was implemented as a part of our sexual abuse prevention work with the Virginia Department of Health. Our goal is to help create a safe environment for our youth athletes.
