YMCA Membership Policy & Activation
Sportable is proud to partner with the YMCA of Greater Richmond to offer complimentary Y memberships to active Sportable athletes. To access this exciting benefit, Sportable members must meet certain requirements.

All active Sportable member athletes are eligible for a complimentary membership to the YMCA of Greater Richmond for themselves and others who live in their household, but must opt-in and set-up this benefit. It is not automatically set-up for you.
To set up your complimentary YMCA of Greater Richmond membership, email Sportable Membership Coordinator, Stephanie Ferguson - Stephanie@sportable.org for instruction and assistance. The YMCA is only able to set-up complimentary Sportable memberships at the direction of Sportable staff. Sportable member athletes should NOT contact the YMCA directly regarding membership set-up.
To set-up and maintain your YMCA of Greater Richmond Membership, you are required to:
- Be registered as a current Sportable member athlete and paying, or on scholarship for, all membership fees AND
- Be actively participating in Sportable programs by attending at least four (4) programs within the last twelve (12) months or year AND
- Be actively using your YMCA membership by visiting the YMCA at least one (1) time per quarter or four (4) times per year
Your YMCA of Greater Richmond Membership through Sportable will be canceled if:
- As a new Sportable member, you do not attend any Sportable programs within four (4) months of activating your Sportable membership OR
- As a current Sportable member, you have not attended any Sportable programs for the previous twelve (12) months or longer OR
- It is found that the Sportable athlete is not utilizing their YMCA membership, but a family member or co-habitant is using the membership benefit
Exceptions may be made for medical complications or other factors that may temporarily impact an athlete’s ability to participate in our programs. These will be handled on a case by case basis. Email Stephanie@sportable.org to discuss if you may qualify for an exception.
