Sportable Welcomes Phillip Cobb as New Chief Operating Officer

RICHMOND, VA – June 20, 2025 – Sportable, Central Virginia’s leading adaptive sports organization, is proud to announce the appointment of Phillip Cobb as Chief Operating Officer. Cobb brings over two decades of leadership experience in nonprofit operations, sports management, and community engagement.

Most recently, Cobb served as Executive Director of the Patrick Henry Family YMCA, where he successfully led a team of directors, managed multimillion-dollar budgets, and spearheaded impactful community partnerships with organizations like Feed More, Hanover County Public Schools, and Sentara Health. Previously, he held key leadership roles across the YMCA of Greater Richmond, overseeing staff development, membership growth, philanthropy initiatives, and operational excellence.

Cobb’s extensive background also includes leadership at the Virginia Sports Complex, over two decades as a high school basketball coach, and deep community involvement. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a recipient of the YMCA’s Cause Driven Leadership Award. His deep ties to the Richmond area and long-standing commitment to service make him a valuable addition to Sportable’s leadership team.
