Sportable Hosts Commonwealth Cup April 29

RICHMOND, VA – (Monday, April 17, 2023) – Sportable, Central Virginia’s premier adaptive sports club, is proud to announce the return of the Commonwealth Cup, presented by Riverside Benefits Group, on Saturday, April 29, 2023. The power soccer tournament will be hosted by the Sportable Hive and will feature six Virginia-based teams including the NOVA Patriots, River City Renegades, and Tidewater Piranhas at J.R. Tucker High School in Henrico County.

“We are thrilled to partner with Riverside Benefits Group to bring the Commonwealth Cup back to RVA this month,” commented Hunter Leemon, Sportable Executive Director. “Our power soccer team, the Sportable Hive, are eager to compete against the top teams in Virginia and a spirited event is guaranteed.”

“We consider it our privilege to once again be a part of the Commonwealth Cup,” added Ryan Hickey, Riverside Benefits Group CEO. “My colleagues and I absolutely love watching the athletes compete and come together as a team. Sportable Hive Coach Jessie Oliff puts her heart into it and really brings out the best in her players. We are looking forward to another action-packed power soccer tournament.”

Power Soccer is a sport specifically designed for power wheelchair users. Using power soccer-specific Strike Force wheelchairs or with guards mounted on wheelchairs, players dribble and score by pushing an 18″ ball across their opponent’s goal line.
