Sportable CEO Hunter Leemon Set to Ride RAGBRAI
RICHMOND, VA – (Thursday, June 29, 2023) – Sportable, Central Virginia’s premier adaptive sports club, is proud to announce its Chief Executive Officer, Hunter Leemon, will participate in RAGBRAI, The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, July 22-29, 2023. Through his 500-mile ride, Leemon’s goal is to raise $10,000 to benefit Sportable’s mission to make sports accessible and inclusive in RVA.
Community members are encouraged to join Leemon remotely by logging miles throughout the month of July by running, walking, pushing, or cycling, while raising funds through a multi-tiered, peer-to-peer fundraiser. Raising $10,000 will unlock a generous dollar-for-dollar match pledged by an anonymous Sportable supporter for a total of $20,000. Registration is available now at Sportable.org.
“I am excited to combine two of my passions – cycling and Sportable – by participating in RAGBRAI,” commented Leemon. “Last summer, I had the chance to ride 52 miles for the final leg of Dan Schmitt’s cross-country Kon-Tiki Challenge and it was one of the best experiences of my life.”
“I felt like I needed a challenge this year and was inspired to push myself to complete the 500-mile ride across Iowa while raising funds for Sportable’s mission,” Leemon added. “I am looking forward to this life-changing experience and I encourage Sportable members and supporters to join me virtually by logging miles, making a donation, or cheering me on.”
