Job Description: The Marketing & Content Coordinator is a creative and organized professional responsible for the daily advancement of Sportable’s brand visibility and event execution. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Events, this role serves as the primary content creator and logistical anchor for marketing campaigns and organizational events.
The Marketing & Content Coordinator ensures that Sportable’s mission is communicated through compelling storytelling, high-quality digital content, and seamlessly executed events that engage athletes, donors, and the community.

Category Type: This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Some night and weekend work is required.
Responsibilities:
Brand Stewardship & Content Creation
- Multi-Channel Storytelling: Design and produce high-quality marketing collateral (flyers, brochures, digital graphics) that adheres to brand guidelines and effectively elevates Sportable’s mission.
- Social Media Management: Lead the strategy and execution of engaging content across all platforms. Monitor the online community, track analytics, and optimize strategies to grow audience engagement.
- Multimedia Production: Plan, capture, and edit compelling video and photo content that highlights Sportable’s athletes, programs, and community impact for use across digital and web channels.
- Website Maintenance: Act as the primary lead for WordPress website updates, ensuring content is accurate, functionally sound, and provides an optimal user experience.
Strategic Marketing Support
- Campaign Implementation: Assist the Director in the rollout of comprehensive marketing plans, including digital ads, email marketing (newsletters), and promotional campaigns.
- Internal Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with the Program, Outreach, and Development teams to ensure marketing efforts support organizational goals and grant requirements.
Event Logistics & Execution
- Operational Coordination: Manage the intricate logistical details for various events, including major athletic tournaments, fundraising galas, and community outreach meetings.
- Vendor & Venue Liaison: Serve as a point of contact for external vendors and venues, ensuring contracts, timelines, and deliverables are met within budget.
- On-Site Support: Provide high-level on-site support during events to manage logistics, troubleshoot issues in real-time, and ensure a premium experience for all attendees.
- Project Administration: Support the Director in tracking marketing expenses, processing invoices, and managing participant registration workflows for events.
Organizational Support
- Ongoing Support: Contribute to "all-hands-on-deck" organizational initiatives and perform other duties as necessary to support the collective success of the Sportable team.
- Mission Advocacy: Act as a passionate advocate for Sportable’s mission, fostering a culture of inclusion and philanthropy among staff, volunteers, and the community.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- 2+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, or event planning.
- Demonstrated proficiency in creative tools, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and Canva.
- Technical experience with CMS and Email platforms, specifically WordPress and email marketing software.
- Experience managing professional social media platforms, with a focus on growth and community engagement.
- Experience in video production, including filming and editing for social and web platforms.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $45,000-50,000 annually, based on experience

Active Lifestyles - Fitness Instructor

Job Description: The Fitness Instructor designs and leads engaging, evidence-based exercise programs specifically for active older adults (ages 50+). This role is crucial in helping participants maintain or improve functional strength, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular health in a safe, supportive, and enjoyable group environment, directly contributing to their overall well-being.
Reports To: Director of Active Lifestyle Programs
Category Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Schedule: Varying, with required availability for some evening and weekend classes. All classes will be held in person throughout Chesterfield County.
Responsibilities:
- Design and lead dynamic group fitness classes (e.g., balance, low-impact aerobics, strength training, chair yoga) specifically tailored for the physical needs and goals of adults ages 50+.
- Skillfully adapt and modify exercises for individuals with physical limitations, chronic conditions (e.g., arthritis, joint replacements), or varying fitness levels to ensure safety and inclusion.
- Incorporate functional movement patterns that directly support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as walking, bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Educate and provide individual feedback on proper form, posture, safe movement patterns, and essential injury prevention techniques.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and highly communicative class environment that promotes community building and social interaction among participants.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism while demonstrating enthusiasm, energy, patience, and empathy throughout all class sessions.
- Manage class logistics, including preparing necessary equipment, music, and attendance records.
- Maintain current industry certifications (see Qualifications) and adhere to all facility safety and operational protocols.
Common Class Formats:
- Low-Impact Aerobics: walking, light aerobics, cardio drumming or dance
- Low-Impact Strength and Conditioning: Bodyweight, resistance bands, or light dumbbells
- Balance & Flexibility: Tai Chi, balance drills, stretching, or yoga
- Chair-Based Classes: For those with limited mobility or balance concerns
Qualifications and Skills:
- Primary Group Fitness or Personal Training Certification from an accredited organization
- Specialized Certifications approved by Director of Active Lifestyle Programs such as: Silver Sneakers, Warrior Roots, Yoga Alliance, SAIL, etc.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification from an accredited provider
- Passionate about Sportable’s mission
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong personal initiative and ability to work independently
- Strong work ethic and high degree of professionalism
Compensation: $35/hour
