Sportable, Central Virginia’s premier adaptive sports club, is proud to once again host the Wayne Samford Memorial Golf Tournament to celebrate the legacy of Wayne Samford and his impact on the community.

All proceeds will directly impact Sportable’s mission of making sports accessible and inclusive for individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments.

About Wayne Samford
Prior to his passing on April 12, 2014, Wayne’s passion for athletics left a lasting impact on the RVA community. His career included 30 years of Divisions I and III college basketball officiating as well as a longtime referee for the local high school basketball games. Wayne also included in his career working with the NCAA, NIT, ODAC and the Maui Classic Tournament. He was the Supervisor of
the Officials for the Dixie and US South Athletic Conference and was an avid softball player for 50 years. He coached little league baseball and was inducted in the Central Virginia ASA Hall of Fame in 1994.
